A bucket elevator is used for vertical lifting of powdered materials and solid particles. The carrying buckets are mounted on a circulating chain or belt. During operation, material is fed into the buckets through a loading device located at the bottom of the housing, and when the bucket reaches the top, the material is discharged. The buckets move continuously within the closed housing. The equipment features high lifting capacity, low energy consumption, low noise, excellent sealing, no dust leakage, and safe and reliable operation.
- Lifting height: ≤50 m
- Capacity: 5–100 tons/hour
- Application fields: food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, pesticide production, building materials, plastics and coatings; the unit can also be used in mining, metallurgy, delivery of building solutions, and other industries.
- Materials handled: cement, titanium dioxide, dry mortar, pesticides, putty powder, calcium carbonate, polyethylene, polypropylene, various types of clay, and other materials.
Characteristic features of the elevator
High energy efficiency
Relatively low power consumption combined with an intensive feeding and unloading system and large bucket capacity. High productivity is ensured because there are no losses due to material spillage during lifting.
Wide range of applications
The wide range of applications is due to the low sensitivity of the equipment to the characteristics of the materials being handled. It is suitable for transporting both powdery and fine-grained materials, as well as highly abrasive substances. In addition, good sealing ensures environmental protection.
Stable operation and low failure rate
The use of advanced design and engineering solutions guarantees high operational reliability of the entire unit. The mean time between failures exceeds 20,000 hours. Smooth operation allows lifting material to great heights.
Long service life
The loading unit is designed so that the material enters the bucket by gravity, which significantly reduces friction and deformation of structural elements. In addition, the unit’s design virtually eliminates material spillage during loading and unloading, reducing mechanical wear on components.
Operating principle
Material flows from the loading device located at the bottom of the unit into a bucket moving in a closed loop. The bucket is lifted upward by a conveyor belt or chain. After passing the upper wheel, the bucket tips downward and discharges the material into the receiving unit. The belt drive is a closed-loop system attached to upper and lower drums, one of which is the drive drum and the other the tension drum. The chain drive may have two drive drums. The housing enclosing the elevator prevents dust from entering the buckets.
